The book “Unwanted?” documents the life of refugees in Austria, and represents all people who have had to leave their home. The exhibition shows them the way they are: people like you and me!

Die Porträtierten kommen aus unterschiedlichen Ländern und Kulturen und doch haben sie eines gemeinsam: den Wunsch nach den „normalen“ Dingen des Lebens, wie Freunde, Familie und Stabilität. Es ist aber auch der Gedanke, unerwünscht zu sein, nicht dazuzugehören, der sich in den Texten widerspiegelt. Auf den folgenden Seiten erwartet Sie ein ungeschminkter Einblick in die Lebenswelten der jungen Menschen zwischen Angst und Hoffnung.

The portrayed persons come from different countries and cultures and yet they have one thing in common: the desire for the ‘normal’ things in life, such as friends, family and stability. It is also the thought of being unwanted, of not belonging, which is reflected in their texts.
